Very last Paint It Blue mani.

I can't believe a month has gone by already! This is my very last paint it Blue, and I am a mixture of happy as sad.   A bit sad to see it finish, but also happy as I am slightly sick of blue nail polish (never thought I would say that!  lol).

These are polishes I have been waiting on being released here in Aus, and I found them the day before my No Buy starts (more on that later).  It was meant to be!

Sally Hansen lustre shine in Azure and Scarab.

I used Azure, and wow!  Its a beautiful blue/purple aka blurple.  ;)

*pics taken inside*

I just love this polish!

Also, I had some people mention they were also going to miss Paint It Blue, so I have started another group.

We will be having weekly themes, and supporting causes.  Hope to see you there!  :)

Aussie Nails Monday - Animals

Hey all!
Hope you all had a great weekend!  Mine was spent celebrating, and then recovering from, my 40th birthday.  Ugh 40.. I much preferred when my age had a 3 at the front  lol
My nails today are part of the Aussie Nails Monday challenge.. I only just joined up, and just in time, as the theme is animals and I have always wanted to try a leopard print.  For my first try at this I am more than happy with how they turned out!  Although next time I may use a more contrasting colour for the 'dots'.

For the base colour I used Sinful Colors Cinderella.. not too impressed with this polish, even with 3 coats I still have VNL.  The shimmer is quite pretty though, so maybe I will try layering it.   For the 'dots' I used a dotting tool and Sally Hansens Celeb City.  The for around the dots Sinful Colors Black On Black, which is the only black I use.  I love this, and will definitely be doing it again!
Have you ever tried a leapord print mani?

It's very cherry!

Hey all..
Sorry for the few days in-between posts, Christmas time can get kind of crazy. ;)
I have gone completely out of my comfort zone with my nail polish this week.  I usually prefer darker colours, or blues and purples.  But the past few days I have been noticing Sally Hansens Cherry Red.   I picked up and put it back a few times, but then it went on sale so I figured what the hell!  I am so glad I did.. its such a beautiful colour!

Forgive the staining around my cuticles.. clean up was horrid, and I have since taken this polish off and the staining is still there.  :(
I would wear this polish again though, and I am so glad I stepped out of my polish comfort zone!
What's a colour that you never usually wear?

Comparison swatches

Hey all!
Sorry I have been MIA the past few days… I have been glued to the tv watching all the heartbreaking footage of Hurricane Sandy.  So sad!  We used to visit NYC all the time when we lived in NY and its just so hard to believe its the same place.  :(
So today I have a comparison swatch for you, between Lokis Lacquers ‘Tinsel’, and Sally Hansens Prism ‘Diamond’.

Can you see the difference between the two?  On my pinkie and middle finger I have the Sally Hansen, and on my ring and pointer fingers is the Lokis Lacquer.  The Loki polish is more of a glitter holo while the SH is a flatter, all over holo.. if that makes sense. lol
Anyway, I love them both and will be wearing them again for sure.

Jumpin' Jade

I need to stop buying polish.  lol  I have so many untrieds that when I went to choose a colour yesterday I was just overwhelmed!   So I decided to let my hubby choose..   first he picked one I have already tried, the next was one that has to be layered over another colour.. he was losing interest fast.  lol  But then he came in with Sally Hansens Insta-Dri 'Jumpin' Jade'.   I knew there was a reason I married him lol  What a choice!  A gorgeous green with subtle shimmer.. this is the first Insta-Dri that I have used, and I know some people have issues with the brush.  I really liked it though, 2 strokes and my nail was done, plus only need one coat.  Plus dries very quickly.  Priceline has Sally Hansen buy 3 for the price of 2 this week, so I will definitely be going back for some more.

Onto the piccies!

Click to enlarge.  As you can see, I had to add some glitter. ;)
On my pinkie is Sally Hansen Night Lights, and on my ring finger is China Glazes Fairy Dust.  Look how they sparkle!  Gorgeous!  I honestly cant see any difference between the 2 on my nails, but in the bottle Night Lights has a black base.  I will definitely be adding glitter to my other nails.

(My adorable dog Lexi.. she is not camera shy at all  lol)

Stamp Sadness.

Hi all!
Well I have managed to keep the same polish on for 3 days now.. no chipping, no tip wear... I'm so impressed!  I'm not sure if its the actual polish (Essies Smooth Sailing) or the new top coat I tried..  Essence Gel-Look Top Coat.  I have read both good and bad reviews on this top coat, but I am sick of Seche Vite chipping and pulling my nail polish on the edges so I thought I would give it a try.  It was about $3 at my local Target store (can also buy in Priceline) and so far so good!  My mani is still intact and is nice and shiny. But after 3 days I am getting a touch bored with it.. lol  So I decided to try some stamping.  I am a novice stamper, and so I'm not sure if its the cheapie plates I have, the nail polish I chose, or my lack of skill but they are so blah I am not even putting up pics.  Patchiness, complete crookedness, its just all round badness.  lol
Oh and for us Aussie nail polish addicts, Priceline is having a 3 for 2 sale on Sally Hansen.  Yay!  I picked up a top coat I have been hearing good things about the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat.  Whew that's a mouthful!  It's awesome though, Super shiny and dries very fast!
