Valentines Day mani

Hello lovelies!

Happy Valentines Day to all who celebrate. Hubby and I don't usually bother, but this year he surprised me with the Love Thy Polish Speckled n' Freckled pales collection, plus a custom topper!  Bit excited!

How gorgeous are they!? I'm so spoilt. :)

So even though I don't usually do Valentines Day, I wanted to do a mani. I saved one of my review Sea Siren Cosmetics polishes just for it.

The polishes I used are Cabin Fever, Leucosia and Gossip.

I used Cabin Fever and Leucosia as my base colours and let dry. I top-coated, and painted another thick layer on top. Then using a dotting tool I did two or three dots and then quickly dragged a very thin nail art brush through the dots. My pinkie didn't work out too well, I think I pressed too hard lol

Formula on all of the Sea Siren polishes was awesome, I love how vibrant the red is!

Love Thy Polish - Sonic Blueprint review and swatches

Hello lovelies!

Today I am lucky enough to be able to show you a sneak peek of one of Love Thy Polish's new Speckled n' Freckled collection. 

There will be 10 new polishes in the Speckled n' Freckled collection. It includes 5 pales which are 'I Sea Green, Southern Sky, Smoke & Dust, Pink Sands and Lilacadaisical', and 5 brights named 'Sonic Blueprint, Berry Berry Purple, Fauxreal Fuschia, Vermillion Dollar Baby and Spot the Pink'.  

Plus at the same time there will be 4 holos released - Halo (yellow/gold), One Small Step for Man (black - re-release), Synthesize (purple) and Bringin' Sexy Back (pink). 

I am so excited for this release! If you read this blog regularly you know I am a HUGE Love Thy Polish fan, her polishes are always amazing and she has great customer service.

The polish I will be sharing with you today is one of the brights, Sonic Blueprint. I love speckle polishes, and this one is a beauty!

The brights are jellies, so they can be sheer. I like jellies, but am not a fan of visible nail line. So I ended up layering this over a polish that has the same base colour.  This is 2 coats of Sonic Blueprint layered over Australis Neon Crush #playthegame.

I adore this mani!  Sonic Blueprint is gorgeous, the speckles go on perfectly. I cannot wait to try the rest of this awesome new collection!

Zombies Without Brains - Love Thy Polish

Hi all!

Oops, been a bit slack on the posting front lately! We have just gone from Winter to Spring here is Australia, which is playing havoc with my seasonal allergies. I will try to post more though, I promise.   ;)

Today I have a sneak peek of one of Love Thy Polish new Halloween polishes!  This one is Zombies Without Brains. 

There is another version of this, called Zombie Brains, which has pink dots in it. I will show that one closer to Halloween.

The green on my ring finger is a franken I made over the weekend. I love frankening, you get to use polishes you otherwise wouldn't of, and get to make something you will wear!

You may have noticed by now, I show alot of Love Thy Polish nail polishes. ;)  That is partly because I am good friends with the owner, Emma, but mainly because I think her polishes are amazing and worth spending your hard earned money on!

Love Thy Polish: Stand Back and Green Eyed Monster

Hi all, and welcome to the last post in Love Thy Polish week!  I have enjoyed sharing this amazing nail polish brand with you, and I hope you have seen something you loved and had to have!

I am going to share two polishes with you today.

The first is Stand Back from the Dreams collection. This collection was a collaboration between Love Thy Polish and myself, so I am quite partial to it.  ;)  

The whole collection is based on the amazing Stevie Nicks.

Isn't she the cutest!? 

When Stevie performs Stand Back she wears this gorgeous black and gold cape/shawl, which is what this polish is based on.

I adore this polish and think it matches the shawl perfectly!

The next polish I am sharing is a new one that is released August 15.  This is Green Eyed Monster, a gorgeous green holo.

Just look at the amazing holo in this polish!  Its so gorgeous, I wanted to share ALL the pictures I took.. lol  I managed to limit myself to four though.  ;)

Love Thy Polish: Peppermint Patty

Hi all!

Just a quick post!  I have for you today a polish that is in a colour that I would not usually wear, but I just love this one!  Its Peppermint Patty, a pale mint green with teal and green hexes, light blue squares and shimmery micro glitter.

This is so pretty. I only had to do two coats.

Love Thy Polish: I S**t Glitter

Hi all!

Hope you are enjoying Love Thy Polish week so far!  I am having fun showing you these gorgeous polishes.  :)

Todays polish is a custom that Emma did for me, but has now been released as a limited edition, of 50 bottles only.

 I Shit Glitter is a deep, chocolate brown polish with a buttload (haha) of chocolate and holographic sparkle.

Unfortunately it was soo hard to capture the gorgeous sparkle in this polish!

Love Thy Polish: He Lives In You

Welcome to Love Thy Polish week!  What is that you ask?  Well, Love Thy Polish is one of my favouritest (yes that's a word!  :p  ) Aussie made indie nail polish brands, so myself and a couple of other bloggers have decided to do a week showcasing these gorgeous polishes!!

The first polish I will be showing is the amazing 'He Lives In You', from the recent Animation Celebration collection.

On the website it is described as a creamy medium grey base with white, orange and blue glitters, and  is based on the colours of Rafiki, the cheeky baboon-cross-mandrill in The Lion King.  Now.. I have to make a confession here.  I have never see The Lion King.  No judging please. :p  

But that doesn't stop me from appreciating and loving this gorgeous polish!

You see your Gypsy....

One of my favourite songs has now become one of my favourite polishes!  Gypsy from Love Thy Polish, based on the amazing Gypsy from Fleetwood Mac.

I adore this polish!  Its has a creamy white base, with silver holo micro glitters and a mix of blue and pink larger glitters.  Random stick on moon, I was playing around with some nail art I bought.. lol

I have included the Gypsy film clip below, so you can see where the colour inspiration came from, and also because its awesome and I love Stevie Nicks. ;)

Rhiannon from Love Thy Polish

I have a very special polish to show you today!  This is Rhiannon, from the Dreams collection, which is a collaboration between myself and the lovely Emma from Love Thy Polish.

Based on the Maker Of Birds demo, this amazing polish takes its colours from these lyrics: 'One emerald green, One snow white, One golden, flashing like a sunbeam through the night'.

Rhiannon  has a forest green base and brilliant golden shimmer.  Its simply beautiful!  Emma has outdone herself with this amazing collection!

Giveaway winner and Christmas nails.

Hey all!

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, hope you all had a great day!  Our was busy, but still quite relaxing as we ended up back at home for dinner with my Mum, so son got a chance to actually play with his toys on Christmas Day, which never usually happens.  He got completely spoilt, as did we all!  Here are a couple of the pressies hubby got me!

Portal earrings.. this is one of my favourite video games, even though it drives me completely crazy.. lol

 Now for some nails!  I went for something simple for my Christmas nails, but I was very happy with how they turned out and got quite a few compliments on them.

Polish used is EmilyDeMollys Path To Glory.. look at the holo-y gorgeousness!!  I was so pleased to get this from my Secret Santa as I had been wanting it forever!  Then I used Scotch tape and striping tape to make the tree.. I think I used a Zoya polish for the tree, then just a layer of Fairy Dust over the tree for more sparklyness.  Then a star decal on top of the tree, and voilà!

Did anyone else do Christmas nails..?  I would love to see them.    :)

Pumpkin Guts

Hey all!

Wow do I have a beauty for you today!  Love Thy Polish ‘Pumpkin Guts’.  I just love the name!

The polish is described on the Etsy store as  ‘A spooky orange jelly with pumpkin guts (black hexes) scattered throughout’.

As you can see, that description is perfect.  This polish went on like a dream, dried very quickly in between coats, which is a huge plus for me.  These pictures are with 3 coats, plus one coat of Out The Door top coat.  This, and all the other awesome Love Thy Polish colours can be bought at her Etsy store here.    Also, keep up to date on Facebook.
