Autism Awareness Month

Hello lovelies!
Well it's been a while since I have posted here!  I have still been doing my nails, but I have just started getting into wire wrapping jewellery, so I've been spending alot of time on that. I will post some pics in a couple of days. :)

April is Autism Awareness month. A group of us ladies from the nail community have been painting our nails blue throughout the month to help raise awareness.
I started Paint It Blue last year, and was going to just paint my nails blue myself, than i let a few friends in the aussie nail community know what I was doing and they joined in, and it took off from there! We currently have over 240 members in the FB group, and even more people on Instagram doing it. It makes me so happy and grateful to see so many people taking part in it.
Anyone interested can join us. If you do, please tag your blue mani using #bluenailsforautism & #paintitblue .
You can also request to join our group on Facebook for further information.   :)

Here are a few of the manis I have done so far.

I am going blue for the whole month, so lucky I love blue polish and have a whole bunch! Have you gone blue for Autism Awareness month? I would love to see your manis if you have. :)

Till next time.
xo

Very last Paint It Blue mani.

I can't believe a month has gone by already! This is my very last paint it Blue, and I am a mixture of happy as sad.   A bit sad to see it finish, but also happy as I am slightly sick of blue nail polish (never thought I would say that!  lol).

These are polishes I have been waiting on being released here in Aus, and I found them the day before my No Buy starts (more on that later).  It was meant to be!

Sally Hansen lustre shine in Azure and Scarab.

I used Azure, and wow!  Its a beautiful blue/purple aka blurple.  ;)

*pics taken inside*

I just love this polish!

Also, I had some people mention they were also going to miss Paint It Blue, so I have started another group.

We will be having weekly themes, and supporting causes.  Hope to see you there!  :)

Don't you step on my Blue Suede Shoes...

I have the most gorgeous polish to show you today!  Blue Suede Shoes from A Girl Obsessed.

This may be one of the most beautiful blues I own!
Perfect coverage in 2 coats.  I tried out my new HK Girl top coat over it, and now I cant stop looking at my nails.

I also did my Aussie Nails Monday mani, and this weeks theme is dots.  You know how I love my dots!!  ;)

I am quite happy with how it turned out, although I wish the dots were a bit straighter.. lol
If you want to check out some more of A Girl Obsesseds polishes, she has a Facebook page, and also Etsy.  :)

It's started!

April is here, which means Autism Awareness Month has officially started!
In particular April 2nd is an important day.  Its World Autism Awareness Day, but also Light It Up Blue!    In honor of this day, many businesses, hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges are among the hundreds of thousands of homes and communities that take part to Light It Up Blue, to help raise awareness about autism.  This year, I am doing something extra.  I will be painting my nails blue for the whole month!  I talked to a few of my nail polish addict friends about doing it with me, and it has just taken off from there.  I have started a Facebook group for it, Paint It Blue.  We would love it if you would join us!

We also have an IG hashtag   #bluenailsforautism , and you are welcome to follow me on IG @gypsymoon73 .
My first mani is just a plain blue that I picked up in a local cheapie store..  Charm Limit,   polish #02. Tip wear already, but I guess thats what you get with $1.50 nail polish. ;)

I love this colour!!
Are you going blue for Autism Awareness?

What goes around..

Hey all!
Well, as you can see, I am back with Blogger.   I am a huge Wordpress fan, but I just could not keep up with the amount of spam comments I was getting, over 300 every day!  It's nice to be loved, but that was just a bit much.  ;)
So here I am again, with a new blog name, Lacquer and Leather, and a new look!  I hope you like them both.
I have something very exciting I want to share with you.  As some of you know, my son has Aspergers. April is Autism Awareness Month, and in particular April 2nd is an important day.

On to todays nails.. I took part in a Secret Bunny event with the Aussie Nails girls, and my awesome bunny got me 3 polishes from the new OPI Spring 2013 Euro Centrale Collection!  The main 3 I wanted as well.. I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw, Polka.com and Vant To Bite My Neck? .
The first one I will be showing is Vant To Bite My Neck? , a dark purple creme nail polish. I do love my purples!

This went on perfectly, and if your a better polish applier then I am it would be a one coater.  Here I have 2 coats, and on my ring finger one coat of Polka.com. So gorgeous, I did not want to take it off.
Have you picked up any of the Euro Centrale Collection?
