Dexter blood splatter nails

Yay, I'm so excited!  The new season of Dexter starts soon, and I cannot wait!  To celebrate, I have done a blood splatter mani.  My first attempt at this style, and while clean up was a bitch (I forgot to tape off my fingers lol), I am loving the look of it.  Will definitely do it again.
I just used a straw.   Put a few blobs of polish onto a plastic plate, dip the end of straw into polish until it covered the hole then blow onto the nail.   I learnt quickly to just use short, hard blows otherwise I just ended up blowing the nail polish into big blobs..  lol  There is heaps of tutorials on YouTube.

The red polish is Butter Londons Pillar Box Red, which I got for free with this months issue of Instyle magazine for all you Aussie ladies.  :)
The white is Ulta3's Lily White, and its your typical white, streaky polish.  Doubt I will use it for other than nail art, but it was only $2 so can't complain.
Tomorrow starts the beginning of No Buy October.. I am getting out of control with my buying and untrieds, so I am hoping this will help me get through  of them.  Tomorrow is also the start of the Halloween Challenge, link to join up is n the post below.    :)

Zoya Summertime

Hey all!!
I am adoring the polish I have on right now.. its Zoya's 'Reva'.  Wow, it's so bright and shimmery and gorgeous!!  I lurve her!  It's from the Summertime collection which I just received.    Used Poshe for the first time as well, loving that so far too, no shrinkage or lifting.... so, sorry SV, but you have now been replaced.

Someone said to me it reminded them of strawberry jam, and they're so right!  The formula is amazing, this is 2 coats and has perfect coverage.  As usual, excuse my crap clean up.. I am working on it.  lol   I received a nail brush kit in the mail today...

and plan on using one of them as a clean up brush.

Starting October 1st, I will be participating in a Halloween challenge.. my first one!  Bit excited!!

Click the pic above to join up.  :)

I have a very special mani planned for tomorrow, looking forward to attempting it.

Panda nails & early Pink Wednesday

Hey all!
I'm so excited for today!  My hubby and I are big gamers, and today the World of Warcraft expansion, Mist of Pandaria, is being released.  We get to be big bouncy pandas!  Yay!
So in honour of that, today I have panda nails.  This is the first time I have ever attempted anything like this, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, wonky eyes and all.  ;)
I used a video tutorial I found on YouTube, you can view it here.

I did the pandas using Ulta3's Lily White, Sinfuls Black on Black, and dotting tools.  Super easy!  On my other nails are 2 coats of Ulta3's French Pink, and 2 coats of Revlons Popular.  I plan on leaving this mani on for long as possible, so these are also my Pink Wednesday nails.
:)

NOTD: Diagonal nails

Hey all!
Diagonal nails.. I think they look so effective and you can do so many variations!   This was my first attempt at this mani and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.   Colours used were China Glaze's Platinum Silver & C-C-Courage.

I love purple and silver together.. so much so that they were my wedding colours!  lol
Ok I am working on a special mani for tomorrow.. my first try at free-hand nail art, so this should be... interesting.   ;)
Will post pics tomorrow.
Have a great day!!

Mysterious, Very Mysterious

Hey all!
Well they've started, the ...... *dramatic music*...  school holidays!  As much as I love the minute sleep in, I don't love hearing "I'm bored" every five minutes  lol  We have a few things planned, the zoo, Madagascar 3, sleepovers at Nanas, so hopefully it won't be too painful.  ;)
On my nails I have a beauty.. Loreals 'Mysterious Icon'.  And mysterious she is!  Is she brown, gold, bronze.. who can tell?  Definitely beautiful, mysterious and unique.

Oh and if your wondering about my blog post title.. it's from The Backyardigans.  It used to be one of my sons favourite tv shows (I actually quite liked it myself  lol), he watched it non stop, and now whenever I heard the word 'mysterious' I think of this....

Ozotic 505 - pics galore!

Hi all!  Sorry it's been a few days between posts, been kinda busy here.  The sun has finally been shining, it's so nice to be able to hang outside!  Bought hubby a BBQ for Fathers Day so he has spent most nights bbq'ing which makes him very happy.  lol
I'm happy to report my polish collection finally has a home!  It's just temporary for now, but I'm very happy with it.

Took me the whole day to do it, and I had to send all the books that were in it to the shed.  :/
The next weekend I picked up these at a garage sale..

$10 for 4, plus they already have the hardware attached to hang from the wall.  Yay!
Today I have swatches of the most gorgeous polish that has ever existed.  Ok, that may be a slight exaggeration, but it is still one amazing polish!  Ozotic 505.  Multichrome gorgeousness.  Is also a dupe for Sally Hansen Prisms Turquoise Opal, which is a polish I have been after for a looooong time, so finally have my fix!  :)

Sorry for so many pics, but trying to capture all the colours of this amazing polish can be quite impossible.

Its goes from blue, green, teal, purple, and I'm sure I even saw a deep burgundy in there somewhere.   This is one coat of Sinfuls Black on Black, covered with 2 coats of Ozotic 505.
I can't stop looking at my nails!  :)

(My girl, posing as usual.  Isn't she a beauty! )

I am in polish heaven today!

From left to right: Avon Nailwear Pro 'Sequinned Turquoise', Avon Matte 'Violetta', Max Factor 'Satsuma', OPI 'It's My Year', Sally Hansen Xtreme wear ' The Real Teal' & 'Mellow Yellow', Australis 'Fairy Bread'.    So in love with all these colours.  I definitely have some variety going on there.  ;)
I'm putting OPI 'It's My Year' on my nails now, and its gorgeous!  A very 'normal' colour for me.  Will post pics tomorrow!

Oh and here is my latest creation..

Polish is China Glazes 'Cosmic'.. so sparkly!

Jumpin' Jade

I need to stop buying polish.  lol  I have so many untrieds that when I went to choose a colour yesterday I was just overwhelmed!   So I decided to let my hubby choose..   first he picked one I have already tried, the next was one that has to be layered over another colour.. he was losing interest fast.  lol  But then he came in with Sally Hansens Insta-Dri 'Jumpin' Jade'.   I knew there was a reason I married him lol  What a choice!  A gorgeous green with subtle shimmer.. this is the first Insta-Dri that I have used, and I know some people have issues with the brush.  I really liked it though, 2 strokes and my nail was done, plus only need one coat.  Plus dries very quickly.  Priceline has Sally Hansen buy 3 for the price of 2 this week, so I will definitely be going back for some more.

Onto the piccies!

Click to enlarge.  As you can see, I had to add some glitter. ;)
On my pinkie is Sally Hansen Night Lights, and on my ring finger is China Glazes Fairy Dust.  Look how they sparkle!  Gorgeous!  I honestly cant see any difference between the 2 on my nails, but in the bottle Night Lights has a black base.  I will definitely be adding glitter to my other nails.

(My adorable dog Lexi.. she is not camera shy at all  lol)

Mint Chip nom nom

So glad I managed to grab a few photos of my nails this morning, as by this afternoon they were a complete mess from putting hubbys new bbq together!
This is Mint Chip, from Smitten Polish and it delicious!  Well, I didn't actually eat/drink it, but I wanted to.  lol

I love the 2 different sized brown glitters.   I definitely would of preferred to see more of the bigger ones, as you can see from the pics some of my nails only got one each, and I just hate to fish for glitter.  Apart from that I love this and look forward to wearing it again.
Oh and if you can see some glitter on my pinkie, that is China Glazes Fairy Dust.. I wanted to see what it looked like as I haven't had a chance to wear it yet.  I think I am going to have to try harder to not buy any more polish for a while, as my untrieds are getting out of control.  ;)
