Draught Of Peace

Hey all!
Today I have an amazing polish to show you..  Draught Of Peace from Alanna Renees Magical World collection.   This collection was inspired by Harry Potter, so of course i had to get some of the polishes!

From the Alanna Renee website:   'Draught of Peace is inspired by one of the potions Harry Potter had to brew in Potions class. Professor Snape, the Potions Master, gave Harry a zero for forgetting to add syrup of hellebore because he misread the instructions. When brewed correctly, Draught of Peace relieves anxiety and agitation.
Draught of Peace is a shimmery turquoise creme with silver glitter.'

This is a polish that is completely unique to my collection, and I absolutely adore it.  It was a little had to get a good pic of, so excuse the multi pics.  ;)

The formula on this was perfect, flowed lovely onto the nail.  This is with 2 coats, and then a top coat of HK Girl.  I can see this polish becoming a fast favourite, I will definitely be getting another bottle.  :)

You can order this gorgeous polish from the Alanna Renee website.

Mmmm Chocolate...

Well not quite, but that is what this polish reminds me off.. yummy melted chocolate.  It's Cate Ruby Corporate.  I know alot of people don't like brown nail polish, but I am a huge fan of it, and have quite a few.

Excuse my poor stamping skills, I am still learning.  I adore this colour though, its the perfect brown. The only thing I didn't like was that the brush was too long, which made for messy application.
But how adorable are the bottles!?

Gypsy Creations

Hey all!
I have just realized, even though my blog is called Lacquer and Leather, I haven't actually shared any of my jewellery for ages!  Well that is about change.  ;)
For those who don't know, I have been making jewellery for just over a year. It all started from me first making a zipper bracelet like this...
I shared it on my profile on Facebook, had quite a few orders for them, and it has just taken off from there.  I officially started Gypsy Creations in April 2012, and haven't looked back!
It's perfect for me, as I can work around my sons school hours, and various therapy appointments.
While I mainly sell on my Facebook page,  I have started listing a few items on Etsy as well.

Here are a few other items I have made recently.

I love to make custom items, so if you are after something special, feel free to contact me via Facebook, or at funnylildancer@gmail.com .

Rhiannon from Love Thy Polish

I have a very special polish to show you today!  This is Rhiannon, from the Dreams collection, which is a collaboration between myself and the lovely Emma from Love Thy Polish.

Based on the Maker Of Birds demo, this amazing polish takes its colours from these lyrics: 'One emerald green, One snow white, One golden, flashing like a sunbeam through the night'.

Rhiannon  has a forest green base and brilliant golden shimmer.  Its simply beautiful!  Emma has outdone herself with this amazing collection!

Happy Birthday Daphne!!!!

Happy Mums Day!

Hope all the Mums out there had a great day!  Mine was nice and quiet, lunch with my Mum then just relaxing at home. I received some lovely pressies from my 2 guys...

* nail polish, of course  ;) *

*awesome purse that I have had my eye on for a while, since I first saw Emma from Nails In The Desert with one*

*gorgeous homemade card from my son*

I of course had to have some special nails for Mothers day, so I decided to try a look I have been wanting to do for a while..  pigment nails!  I first saw these on Bec from Nail Gun XS, and fell in love.  She actually just wrote a tutorial for Lacquerheads of Oz about it, so I followed that.  I am so so happy with how they look!

*pigments a go!*

*inside pic*

*outside pics*

I added a few photos so you could get the idea of how they look.  I used mainly pigment eyeshadows from Pretty Serious Cosmetics, and a random one from Essence.    The only thing I did different from the tutorial was put my first pigment colour straight onto my wet nail polish, instead of a top coat.  Next time also, I will hold the brush closer to my nail, I think I held it too far away which is why it's more scattered.
I love this look so much, I went right onto Ebay and bought a bunch of different coloured pigment eyeshadows.  ;)

Have you tried pigment nails yet?

Hi all!
Hope you have all had a great week!  I must say, I am looking forward to the weekend, and especially Mothers Day.. sleep in.. breakfast in bed.. ahhh bliss.  ;)

I have a review polish to show you today...  Purple Addiction from Alanna Renee
This polish has a sparkly purple base, and a mix of purple square and smaller purple hex glitter. There is also blue and pink sparkles.

I love the colour and sparkle in this polish.  I did layer it over China Glaze Creative Fantasy though, as I found it to be quite sheer.

**This polish was sent to me for review.  All opinions are 100% mine**

Aussie Nails mani: bling bling (pic heavy)

Bling Bling!  I just love this theme so much!  I was hoping my Born Pretty order would turn up, but no luck. I am still so happy with how this turned out anyway.
Base colour for all nails is  is ChiChis "My Bad' and layered over it is 'Celebrity Meltdown'. My accent nail is Nfu Oh flakie # 43.

I posted a few pics, so you can see how sparkly it is!

The Nfu Oh is not a colour I would of bought myself, but hubby picked it out, cause it's orange.   Go Syracuse!

Oh, and I also won these awesome Pedi-Sox from a giveaway at A Polished Prance.  I love them, they are sooo comfy.

Have you tried Pedi-Sox yet?

Blue! Holo! I cannot resist this...

Today I have an awesome polish from a new Aussie indie maker to show you!  Steeling Blue, from Lilypad Lacquer.   As soon as I saw this polish I knew that I had to have it.  Blue holo!  What's not to love?

I've included a blurred pic so you can see the holo gorgeousness!
I completely adore this, and cannot wait to use more of Lilypad Lacquers polishes.  :)

Cate Ruby review

Hi all!
I have a very special post for you all today.. my very first review! I was lucky enough to be one of the 5 bloggers that Cate Ruby sent some polishes to for review!   Her bottles are adorable, and come with a Diamonte Band that can be worn as a ring!
Today I will be swatching Harriet, a pale pink polish.

The formula was just lovely, completely opaque in 2 coats.  Could probably be done in one but I am slightly ill at the moment and therefore a bit shaky.  This was not a colour I would of bought myself, but it really is very pretty!
I decided to do an accent nail of some pink BYS caviar beads I won recently.  I was not a fan before, and after trying I am now completely convinced that caviar nails are not for me.
The pink nails are also perfect for this weeks theme for Paint It ALL The Colours, which is..  pink!  ;)

Stay tuned for more lovely Cate Ruby polishes!

Very last Paint It Blue mani.

I can't believe a month has gone by already! This is my very last paint it Blue, and I am a mixture of happy as sad.   A bit sad to see it finish, but also happy as I am slightly sick of blue nail polish (never thought I would say that!  lol).

These are polishes I have been waiting on being released here in Aus, and I found them the day before my No Buy starts (more on that later).  It was meant to be!

Sally Hansen lustre shine in Azure and Scarab.

I used Azure, and wow!  Its a beautiful blue/purple aka blurple.  ;)

*pics taken inside*

I just love this polish!

Also, I had some people mention they were also going to miss Paint It Blue, so I have started another group.

We will be having weekly themes, and supporting causes.  Hope to see you there!  :)
