Aussie Nails Monday Mani: hearts

Hi all..
I seem to be a few days behind on this post.. lol  Sorry about that.  My son has been home sick all week from school.   He is finally feeling better though thankfully, though of course he has shared his germs with me. Never shares his chocolate, only his colds.  ;)
This weeks Aussie Nails Monday mani had a hearts theme, which is great timing as I just received some heart shaped studs from Born Pretty.  I know most people think red/pink when they think of a loveheart mani, but as you know, I am not a red/pink girl at all, so of course I have gone with blue.  ;)

The base colour is China Glaze Electric Beat, it's new to my collection, and I just love it!  At first I was unsure about it, I thought it may be too much like Secret Peri-Winkle, but its much more beautiful!
I also used a stamping plate from Llawore for my pinkie and middle finger. I am so glad I have persevered with stamping, I am finally making it work.
I was so happy with this mani, and didn't want to take it off. Unfortunately, one of the hearts came off the next day, and I hate to be uneven.    lol
Also, I still haven't found the heart!  O.o

Shooting Stars

Wow, 80 followers!  Welcome all, great to have you here!
Only a few days left in my giveaway, so get in while you still can.  :)
It's definitely the silly season at the moment, the stores here have been crazy!  I am so glad I did most of my shopping for my son during the June/July toy sales, has made it alot easier.

I just wanted to quickly share with you what I have on my nails right now.. I was starting to get sick of having Christmas nails so went with this and will do some more xmas nails on Dec 24.

This is China Glaze 'Frostbite' with two layers of Peitas Polish 'Shooting Stars' over the top. Love it!  Excuse the dodgy pic, this was taken with my phones camera.   I only just got Shooting Stars, but couldn't wait to use it!  If you want to see more of Peitas gorgeous polishes, check out her Etsy store.
More pics to come, if the sun ever decides to show itself today.  :)

China Glaze - Atlantis

Hey all!
Hope your having a great week so far.. ours has been quite eventful.  Son had his last dentist appointment, didn't go quite as well as last time, so am very glad its all over.  Today he has his assessment at the Minimal Motor Dysfunction Unit at our local childrens hospital, am hoping he gets in as I think it would help him alot. Also, i finally got to meet up with one of the lovely ladies from the Aussie Nails FB group I am in, and we did a lil polish swap.. yay!
Ok todays polish is China Glazes 'Atlantis', which is a bluey green with tons of holo glitter.. its beautiful!  i did 3 coats and that made it opaque, but I think next time I will layer it over SH The Real Teal, which seems to be a very close match.

Trying to capture all the holo sparkly goodness in pictures can be quite difficult, which is why a couple are blurry.  Isn't she beautiful?   :)

TIH Challenge - Zombie nails

Oops I am a day late on this one..  It was my Mum and aunts birthday weekend and the party went on a little too long.. lol
I was too hungover to do any nail art, so I cheated and used China Glazes Zombie Zest nail polish.  I have had this for a few months bit haven't used it before. and now I know why.. its kinda icky.. lol  The formula was very runny, and I used 3 coats but probably could of gone 4!  If I ever use this again I might try layering it over black.

It's definitely Zombie-ish.  ;)

NOTD: Diagonal nails

Hey all!
Diagonal nails.. I think they look so effective and you can do so many variations!   This was my first attempt at this mani and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.   Colours used were China Glaze's Platinum Silver & C-C-Courage.

I love purple and silver together.. so much so that they were my wedding colours!  lol
Ok I am working on a special mani for tomorrow.. my first try at free-hand nail art, so this should be... interesting.   ;)
Will post pics tomorrow.
Have a great day!!

Jumpin' Jade

I need to stop buying polish.  lol  I have so many untrieds that when I went to choose a colour yesterday I was just overwhelmed!   So I decided to let my hubby choose..   first he picked one I have already tried, the next was one that has to be layered over another colour.. he was losing interest fast.  lol  But then he came in with Sally Hansens Insta-Dri 'Jumpin' Jade'.   I knew there was a reason I married him lol  What a choice!  A gorgeous green with subtle shimmer.. this is the first Insta-Dri that I have used, and I know some people have issues with the brush.  I really liked it though, 2 strokes and my nail was done, plus only need one coat.  Plus dries very quickly.  Priceline has Sally Hansen buy 3 for the price of 2 this week, so I will definitely be going back for some more.

Onto the piccies!

Click to enlarge.  As you can see, I had to add some glitter. ;)
On my pinkie is Sally Hansen Night Lights, and on my ring finger is China Glazes Fairy Dust.  Look how they sparkle!  Gorgeous!  I honestly cant see any difference between the 2 on my nails, but in the bottle Night Lights has a black base.  I will definitely be adding glitter to my other nails.

(My adorable dog Lexi.. she is not camera shy at all  lol)

Mint Chip nom nom

So glad I managed to grab a few photos of my nails this morning, as by this afternoon they were a complete mess from putting hubbys new bbq together!
This is Mint Chip, from Smitten Polish and it delicious!  Well, I didn't actually eat/drink it, but I wanted to.  lol

I love the 2 different sized brown glitters.   I definitely would of preferred to see more of the bigger ones, as you can see from the pics some of my nails only got one each, and I just hate to fish for glitter.  Apart from that I love this and look forward to wearing it again.
Oh and if you can see some glitter on my pinkie, that is China Glazes Fairy Dust.. I wanted to see what it looked like as I haven't had a chance to wear it yet.  I think I am going to have to try harder to not buy any more polish for a while, as my untrieds are getting out of control.  ;)

Plastic wrap mani!

Just a quick post today, as I am still feeling pretty blah. Just wanted to show you my first attempt at the plastic wrap mani.. what do you think? Excuse the bald spots and polish on my cuticle.. lol
If anyone has any tips on getting the polish off my cuticles without ruining the rest of the polish, it would be much appreciated! ;)

To be honest, at first I wasn't too sure about it.. but after I added 2 coats of a shiny top coat it looked much better! Will have to do the rest of my nails now. lol

*cough sniffle splutter*

Don't get too close, i'm sick! My son sure loves to share his school germs. ;)

Not too sick that I couldn't paint my nails though.. lol   Although I don't think I did a very good job.. it seems a bit thin and streaky.  It looks better in real life than it does in the pic.. it wasn't until I looked at the pic that I realized how bad it was!  lol  Oh well, tomorrow I plan on adding some stamps and black tips, so that should hide it all. ;)

The colour is China Glaze's Secret Periwinkle. I love love love the colour, but I found the polish to be quite thin.. honestly I think I could of gone for 3 coats.  For top coat I used OPI's RapiDry.   First time I have tried it, and I quite like it.  Although since the bottle I have was a teeny tiny sample one the brush was teeny tiny too!
Will post more pics tomorrow... have a good night all!
