Girl in the Green Scarf - PrettyPots Polish review

Hello loves!

I know I have been quiet lately.. I have been helping someone with something very special. That's all I can say for now, more details in the next couple of days hopefully.  ;)

Today I am showing you Girl in the Green Scarf by PrettyPots Polish from the Cinematic Collection. This polish is based on Rebecca Bloomwood in the movie 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'. I will admit, I haven't seen the movie, but I have read the whole series of books and love them!

This polish is sooo gorgeous! It has a green jelly base, with matte neon pink hex, periwinkle matte hex, turquoise hex, emerald green micro, and ocean blue holo glitters.
Although this polish is opaque in 2-3 coats, I decided to layer it.
On my pointer and middle finger I have Balsam Fir from Revlon, and on my ring and pinkie is Liquid Leather from China Glaze.

I love how this looks layered. Over the black the emerald green micro glitters really pop! The contrast of the green, pink and blue glitters is stunning. Applied lovely and smooth, only needed one coat of topcoat to make it perfect. One of my new favourite polishes for sure.

PrettyPots Polish can be found on Etsy, and they also have Facebook and Instagram.  Looking forward to showing you the rest of the gorgeous polishes.  :)

Till next time!

True Blood

Hi all!
Did anyone watch the season return of True Blood last night?  Feels like i have been waiting forever for it to come back onto tv.  As usual, it didn't disappoint, plenty of blood, sex and fangs.
I wore a super special polish for the occasion, one I have been saving for it.  The amazing True Blood from Lilypad Lacquer.  I have no words for this gorgeous red/purple holo, it is just completely stunning.

I mean.. just look at it!  Have you ever seen anything more beautiful?  It makes me want to stand in the sun all day staring at my nails.
I used Nfu Oh Aqua Base for the basecoat, and a new top coat I received yesterday.. Revlons Just Tinted Shiny Topcoat.  I didn't have high hopes for the topcoat, I had never heard of it and only bought it as it was on sale. But I love it!  Super shiny, and fast drying. I will definitely be on the lookout for more bottles of it.

Revlon Galaxy

Hi and welcome to all my new followers!  I have just hit 50, so have decided to have a lil giveaway to celebrate.  There is 5 awesome polishes to win!  Check out the post below to enter.  I will also be making a page for it so the giveaway will be easier to find.  :)

Today I have on my nails a polish I had been lemming over for quite a while, and finally managed to score a bottle!  Revlon's Galaxy... sigh.  I will let the awesome polish speak for itself.

Excuse the odd angles and blurriness on some of the pics, I was trying to capture all the glitter.  Galaxy is classed as a top coat, so I have layered it over OPI Ink.  if you can ever find Galaxy, don't hesitate to buy it, its more amazing than pictures can show.

Oh, and as most if you know, I also make jewellery.  I am currently having an auction to clear out some of my older stock, and support my nail polish habit.  ;)
You can check out the auction album here.

Revlons Whimsical

Hey all!
I am super excited about the polish I will be showing you today.. Revlons Whimsical.  I have been after this beautiful polish for quite a while, so when I had the opportunity to get it I grabbed 2 bottles.  :)
Whimsical has a very, very sheer light blue jelly base with pink and light blue hex glitter, and small blue glitter.  So pretty!
It's definitely a layering polish, I would dread to think how many coats you would need to make it opaque.  I layered it over Ulta3's Soft Hydrangea, which is a gorgeous pastel blue.

The two colours are a perfect match.  I don't want to take it off, so glad I grabbed 2 bottles!  Can't wait to try layering it over different colours.  :)

Panda nails & early Pink Wednesday

Hey all!
I'm so excited for today!  My hubby and I are big gamers, and today the World of Warcraft expansion, Mist of Pandaria, is being released.  We get to be big bouncy pandas!  Yay!
So in honour of that, today I have panda nails.  This is the first time I have ever attempted anything like this, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, wonky eyes and all.  ;)
I used a video tutorial I found on YouTube, you can view it here.

I did the pandas using Ulta3's Lily White, Sinfuls Black on Black, and dotting tools.  Super easy!  On my other nails are 2 coats of Ulta3's French Pink, and 2 coats of Revlons Popular.  I plan on leaving this mani on for long as possible, so these are also my Pink Wednesday nails.
:)

*sigh*

Well my no-buy lasted approx 2 hours!   lol   I swear I had good intentions, but as I walked past Price Attack I saw they had ROKK96 polishes 3 for $19!  I am trying to get some decent piccies of them, but the complete lack of sun where I am is making it difficult.

Yesterday I finally got to try out Revlon Royal, and wow what a colour!  Application was a bit eh, but not sure if i'm at fault or the nail polish.  ;)

This is Revlon Royal, with flower stamp from a kit I bought at Ned's.    Blah, my polish application is so crap around my cuticles! So sorry!  lol

My first swatch!

I just had to share this.. I tried my new Scandalous by Revlon nail polish today, and omg!  I luuurrve it!   A lovely black base with pretty pretty purple sparklies through it!   This first pic is Scandalous with 3 coats.. I probably could of gotten away with 2 coats but I felt it needed the 3rd to even it out.. although that is more the fault of my nail polish applying skills (or lack of lol) than the actual polish itself.  Also one coat of Sally Hansen topcoat.

(click on piccies for bigger view)

Not the best photo, I apologize, my camera did not want to behave today. I decided to add a black tip, so today is a day of firsts!  My first swatch, and my first tape mani!  yay!  :)

I used Essence Galactic Black for the tips.  This is the first time I have used it, and I love it!  A deep black with very subtle shimmer through it.  No topcoat, but only because I was in a rush the get the photos while the sun was out for 2 minutes.  lol   I cant wait to try this mani again, but with OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte on the tips.. which i'm hoping will arrive soon!

My latest obsession...

is nail polish.  Well, its always been something i loved, but in the past month or so my obsession has definitely kicked itself up a notch!  I haven't always had nails, I used to be an extreme nail biter.   But I have managed to keep them long now for quite a few months, so I'm hoping i will be able to keep them that way.  To reward myself i have been splurging on a few nail polishes online.. it's hard to find what I want here in Australia, so yay for eBay!  ;)

I will share a pic of the 2 I picked up today... actually my hubby picked them out for me and i must say I am very impressed with his choices. They are both Revlon. The blue is 'Radiant' and is a clear base with blue, silver and green sparkles. The purple is 'Scandalous' and is a black base with big purple sparklies through it.

So many sparklies! Do love!
