Hey all!

Well, as you can see, I am back with Blogger.   I am a huge Wordpress fan, but I just could not keep up with the amount of spam comments I was getting, over 300 every day!  It's nice to be loved, but that was just a bit much.  ;)

So here I am again, with a new blog name, Lacquer and Leather, and a new look!  I hope you like them both.

I have something very exciting I want to share with you.  As some of you know, my son has Aspergers. April is Autism Awareness Month, and in particular April 2nd is an important day.  Its World Autism Awareness Day, but also Light It Up Blue!    In honor of this day, many businesses, hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges are among the hundreds of thousands of homes and communities that take part to Light It Up Blue, to help raise awareness about autism.  This year, I am doing something extra.  I will be painting my nails blue for the whole month!  I talked to a few of my nail polish addict friends about doing it with me, and it has just taken off from there.  I have started a Facebook group for it, Paint It Blue.  We would love it if you would join us!

On to todays nails.. I took part in a Secret Bunny event with the Aussie Nails girls, and my awesome bunny got me 3 polishes from the new OPI Spring 2013 Euro Centrale Collection!  The main 3 I wanted as well.. I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw, Polka.com and Vant To Bite My Neck? .  

The first one I will be showing is Vant To Bite My Neck? , a dark purple creme nail polish. I do love my purples!

This went on perfectly, and if your a better polish applier then I am it would be a one coater.  Here I have 2 coats, and on my ring finger one coat of Polka.com. So gorgeous, I did not want to take it off.

Damn you, blue screen of death!

Well, Happy Birthday to me.. my laptop decided that for my 40th birthday it would be give me the blue screen of death, and force me to reformat 3 times, losing all my photos etc.  Which means the photos I took yesterday of my awesome birthday nails are gone.  I have one phone pic that I can use ...

So I have now had to nubbinize.  But, then these came in the mail..

So I decided to have a play around with them and some striping tape, and nails now look like this..

Then this morning I woke up to this card from my son..

So all in all, not a bad day so far (apart from the loss of all my nail pics).. lol

This Is Halloween challenge - Gradient

Hello lovely people!

Todays post is for the This Is Halloween challenge, and it's a gradient.  My first attempt at one, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.. so much so that I actually did both my hands, I usually only do the one!  lol

I took my inspiration from the colours in candy corn, an American candy.

I don't eat it, but I love the colour combination.  ;)

My cuticles look a bit mad, I think its from too much clean up with the acetone.. might have to take a break from that for a few days.

Colours used are a base of My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then a mix of the Halloween collections from OPI.

TIH challenge - Jack O Lanterns

Here is my Jack O Lanterns mani for the This Is Halloween challenge.  Its a day early as I won't be online the next 2 days to post it.
Just a very basic mani as i'm  a bit blergh this week.  :)

My base colour is  OPI's Deutsch You Want Me Baby?   Isn't she beautiful!!!   I picked that and one of my huge lemmings, German-icure by OPI, up at my local Price Attack.   I didn't even know they sold OPI!  I completely broke my No Buy to get them, but I don't care they are worth it.  ;)

The Jack O Lantern decal is from the OPI Halloween mini set.  

Oh and on my pinkie is Flamin' Funk, I had to try it out right away and I'm in love with it!  I only got a mini but i will definitely be grabbing a full size.   You can get Flamin' Funk from Loki's Lacquer.

OMG! I am so glad I just went and checked my email.. had one from Catch Of The Day. Usually I just delete their emails, but today the subject line caught my attention..

'SOS! OPI Nail Lacquers - ALL Under $10'

I think I may have actually stopped breathing for a second... lol  Now $10 may seem like alot to readers in USA etc, but here in Australia we pay anywhere from $17 - $20 for OPI in a store.. if you can find it at all that is.

So of course I had to buy.. my no buy week is all shot to hell anyway, so I am restarting that on Monday. ;)

I had to choose quick as they only have limited stock and I noticed a lot had already sold out! But I did manage to snag..
